Course Description

Roosevelt University is a private university with campuses in Chicago and Schaumburg, Illinois. Founded in 1945, the university was named in honor of United States President Franklin Delano Roosevelt and First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt. The university enrolls around 6,000 students between its undergraduate and graduate programs. Roosevelt is also home to the Chicago College of Performing Arts. The university's newest academic building, Wabash, is located in The Loop of Downtown Chicago. It is the tallest educational building in Chicago, the second tallest educational building in the United States, and the fourth-largest academic complex in the world. The Roosevelt University experience is characterized by strong student-faculty interaction and engagement with metropolitan Chicago as both a laboratory for learning and an expression of the university’s commitment to social justice. Faculty members are dedicated to excellence in teaching, research, and creative activity, and staff members are equally focused on helping students grow and achieve their educational and life goals. The university is an active partner in the social, economic and cultural development of the communities it serves, offering a broad array of academic programs, from the baccalaureate through doctoral levels, in an interactive environment where students can explore, discover, and develop their unique abilities and interests.
